- this root tutorial can be applied only on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with these particular model numbers: GT P 5100, GT P5110 and GT P5113. Do not attempt to use this software on other different tablets or smartphones.
- Install the USB Drivers for Galaxy Tab 2 so that your device will be recognized when connected to your PC. These drivers can be installed using Samsung KIES or you can go to Samsung website. Please note that after you install the Samsung USB Drivers you will need to close completely Samsung KIES program.

- Download the root zip files by clicking the download links below:
- For Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) model number GT P5113 download the ‘cwm-root-gtab2.zip’ file.
- For Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) model number GT P5100 or the GT P5110 download the ‘cwm-root-gta2a.zip’ file.
- Now copy the root zip package on the root of your device’s external sdcard, the one located at /mnt/extSdCard. Please note that you shouldn’t copy it on the internal memory as this one cannot be viewed in CWM Recovery. After the transfer is complete you need to disconnect it from your computer.
- Next, power off the tablet.
- Boot into CWM Recovery. Press and hold ‘volume down’ and ‘Power’ buttons simultaneously and the Samsung logo will appear, and then let go of the Power button, but keep Volume Down pressed.
- When you’re in the clockworkmod recovery menu, you should first select ‘install zip from sdcard’. Find the file you moved at step 2 and then confirm that you wish to install.
- After the root zip has been applied, you will have to get abck to the main recovery screen where the ‘reboot system now’ option is located. Select it and your tablet device will now restart.
- After the reboot is complete you should open the application drawer and check to see if the ‘SuperUser’ icon is listed. If it isn’t then you will have to visit Google Play Store and install SuperUser.
